WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 is a professional wrestling video game developed by YUKE's Future Media Creators and published by THQ for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, Wii, and Xbox 360 video game consoles. It will be the tenth video game in the WWE SmackDown series, and will be the sequel to its predecessor, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008.TOSE will oversee development for the Nintendo DS version. The game is expected to ship in November 2008.

The video game is based on the professional wrestling promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and is named after two of the promotion's three brands, Raw and SmackDown.The game introduced a few key new features including the Inferno match, a revamped tag team match, and three new game modes: Create-A-Finisher, Road to WrestleMania and Career.

Roster

SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 like previous games in the series features actual superstars from WWE. The roster in the 2009 edition will be split into six classifications: Raw brand, SmackDown brand, ECW brand, free agents, legends and an unlockable WCW classification.[27][28] Despite the availiable classification, it is the first time since WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth to not feature any legend characters. This coincides with the development of the 2009 game WWE Legends of WrestleMania. According to THQ, there is no particular cutoff date in which the roster is locked down.[29] Including downloadable content, 66 superstars and divas will be featured in the game.[25] The DS version will feature at least 29 wrestlers, with their assigned brands set before the 2008 WWE Draft unlike the other versions.[22] Wrestlers confirmed so far include:
